Reflection on Mansoor’s presentation

Date: 20.05.2012

Time: 1100

Venue: W103A

Topic: car safety

Mansoor introduced the presentation by asking the audience what do they do when they get into their cars. He then talked about different types of safety; seat belt, tires check, system check, etc.

The role of tires and how important they should get checked every once in a while, as was the responsibility of the media as a cause of street racing which led into so many accidents.

Body language and eye contact were fine. Mansoor had one problem which was that sometimes he was blocking the slideshow; other than that it was good.  The audience were interested with what Mansoor was presenting because all of them drive a car and they learned new things as well. He was able to answer all the questions that came from the audience and the instructor; the reason is because Mansoor chose a topic that he was interested in.

The slides were interesting and informative, with minimum amount of words.

What new did I learn?

1. I used to always get confused to figure out when I should replace my tires but Mansoor explained that for me by telling me a few steps, for example; check the tread on the tire, read the letters which have been typed on the tire, etc.
2. Mansoor is an idol to me when it comes to driving because he owns sport cars but when he wants to race he doesn’t do it on the streets he goes to Yas Marina circuit which is specially made for these reasons.

Overall, the presentation was educational and entertaining.

Reflection/evaluation

Date: Thursday 26th April

Location: W103A

Presenters: Sultan & Jassim

Subject:Anna Maria Tussaud-Madame Tussaud's museum

Sultan opened the presentation with a slide showing a picture of Anna Maria Tussaud. He identified her to the audience by telling them her place of birth and where she was originally from. He went on to show who taught her how to make a wax statue and where she got to know Dr.Philippe Curtius. The slides were showing pictures of the first wax statue made by Anna and Dr.Philippe.Then he moved to what happened to her during the French revolution and where she took her family to avoid the trouble from the revolution.

Jassim concentrated on Madame Tussaud's museum in London & different locations around the world. He showed pictures of the main museums.

Body language: for Sultan he showed that he knows about what he was talking about since he visited one of the museums and that got us to know how knowledgeable and confidant he is. Jassim's start showed that he was hesitating for a while then he became better after reacting with the audience.

Questions:both students were good when questions were asked during or after the presentation. They both showed that they knew what they were presenting and they had our interest because they were able to answer all the different questions from the audience.
